Donna Jean (Martin) Helmer

HELMER, Donna Jean (nee Martin)

of South Buffalo, at the age of 83, peacefully in her sleep at Mercy Hospital on September 4th, 2023.

She was born in Buffalo on May 16th, 1940; the daughter of Ralph and Frances Kaylor.

Donna grew up in Buffalo and graduated from South Park High School.  She married Ralph "Hook" Helmer, he predeceased her in November, 1998.

Donna worked at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo for many years, prior to retiring in 2009.  She enjoyed crocheting, reading and watching scary movies.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Glenn (Amy) and Ralph, Leeann, Lynette and Mary; her grandchildren Leeann, Michelle, Thomas, Emily, Thomas, Allyson, Katie, Nicholas and numerous additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughters Tammy and Frances; step-children Denise, Joyce and Tammy and brother James (Anna).

At Donna's request, no public Visitation or Services will be held.

Donations in her memory may be made to any Animal Shelter/SPCA of your choice.
